The Chicago Blackhawks have signed goalie Cam Ward, forward Chris Kunitz, and defenceman Brandon Manning.

Ward has signed a one-year, $3 million deal, while Kunitz has also signed for one year. Manning's deal is for two years.

The 34-year-old Ward posted a 23-14-4 record with a .906 save percentage and 2.73 goals-against average with the Carolina Hurricanes last season.

Ward has spent the past 13 seasons in Carolina, appearing in a total of 668 games for the organization since they drafted him in the first round (25th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was penciled in as the team's backup in September, be wound up leading the club in starts as Scott Darling struggled in his first season in Raleigh.

He is coming off of a two-year contract worth $6.6 million signed in June, 2016.

The Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup 2005-06, Ward’s first season with the team, but have only made one playoff appearance since then.

Kunitz, 38, scored 13 goals and added 16 assists over 82 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning this season.

Throughout his 16-year tenure in the NHL, Kunitz has won four Stanley Cups, including three as a Pittsburgh Penguin in 2009, 2016 and 2017, and one in an Anaheim Ducks’ jersey in 2007. He’s racked up a total of 263 goals and 346 assists in 966 career games.

Kunitz was signed by the Ducks as an undrafted free agent in 2003 and spent six seasons in Anaheim before being traded to the Penguins in 2008. He spent nine seasons with Pittsburgh before signing with the Bolts last summer.

Kunitz is coming off a one-year, $2 million deal.

Manning, 27, scored seven goals and added 12 assists for a career-high 19 points with the Philadelphia Flyers over 65 games in 2017-2018.

The 6-foot-1 defenceman signed with the Flyers as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Manning has since netted 11 goals and 32 assists through 207 career games in Philly.

Manning is finishing a two-year deal valued at $1.95 million.
