Borucki will start Jays' spring opener
As the competition for places in the Toronto Blue Jays rotation begins, Ryan Borucki will get the first shot as he will start the Grapefruit League opener against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday in Dunedin. Sean Reid-Foley will get the ball on Sunday as the Jays head to Sarasota to face the Baltimore Orioles.

As the competition for places in the Toronto Blue Jays rotation begins, Ryan Borucki will get the first shot as he will start the Grapefruit League opener against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday in Dunedin.
Sean Reid-Foley will get the ball on Sunday as the Jays head to Sarasota to face the Baltimore Orioles.
Borucki made 17 starts for the Blue Jays during the 2018 season and posted a 4-6 record with a 3.87 ERA in 97.2 innings. He struck out 67 hitters while walking 33 and surrendered seven home runs.
The 24-year-old also made 13 starts for the AAA Buffalo Bisons last season and went 6-5 with a 3.27 record at the minor league level.
He was selected in the 15th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Blue Jays.
Reid-Foley made seven starts last season for the Blue Jays and finished with a 2-4 record and a 5.13 ERA in 33.1 innings.
He also appeared at both the AA and AAA levels in the Jays organization in 2018 and compiled a 12-5 mark with a 3.26 ERA in 129.2 innings.
Reid-Foley was selected in the second round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Blue Jays.
