(SportsNetwork.com) - Atlanta Braves All-Star right-hander Julio Teheran tries to pitch his club back into the win column Tuesday in the second test of a four-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

The Braves have lost two in a row since winning nine straight and the NL East leaders hope Teheran can get them back on track. Teheran is 8-5 with a 2.29 earned run average and has won back-to-back starts, including last Wednesday's 3-1 win over these Mets. He limited New York to a run and four hits in seven innings.

Teheran has lasted at least seven innings in four straight starts and is 6-2 in his past eight decisions. He is 2-0 with a 2.60 ERA in five games (4 starts) lifetime against the Mets.

Atlanta had a four-game road winning streak come to an end with Monday's 4-3 loss in 11 innings, as Ruben Tejada delivered an RBI single to win the game off Braves reliever Anthony Varvaro. Mike Minor pitched well in the start for the visitors, allowing two runs and two hits in seven innings.

"He battled, he kept us in the ball game," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said of Minor.

All-Star Freddie Freeman led the Braves with three hits and scored a run, while Chris Johnson and Christian Bethancourt had an RBI apiece during a three-run rally in the eighth inning. The Braves erased a 2-0 hole in the frame and Freeman scored on a wild pitch.

New York then tied the game on Curtis Granderson's solo homer in the bottom half and Juan Lagares later scored the winning run on Tejada's base hit.

Atlanta pounded out 12 hits, but went 1-for-11 with men in scoring position and left 11 on base. Andrelton Simmons had two hits and has recorded six straight multi-hit games.

David Wright homered and Mets starter Daisuke Matsuzaka threw seven scoreless innings in the no-decision. Carlos Torres picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.

"We needed it bad because we had a very similar game down there in Atlanta that we lost," New York manager Terry Collins said.

The Mets took two of three from Texas to begin this 10-game homestand and have won nine of their last 14 games at Citi Field. They are 2-0-1 in the last three home series.

New York, which is now one win away from 4,000, has clubbed 21 home runs in the last 19 games. It has hit at least one homer (13 total) in seven straight games at home.

Taking the mound for the Mets Tuesday will be Jacob deGrom. He is just 1-5 with a 3.77 earned run average and is coming off last Wednesday's loss at Atlanta in which he gave up all three runs in a 3-1 setback in five innings of work.

DeGrom's last four starts have been on the road and he is 0-3 in four starts at Citi Field. The right-hander last pitched at Citi Field in a 3-1 loss to Milwaukee on June 11.

Atlanta is 6-4 against New York this season.
