Milwaukee, WI - The Milwaukee Brewers have exercised the 2015 club option on starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo and declined the vesting/club option on second baseman Rickie Weeks.

Weeks has spent his entire career with the Brewers after being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft, hitting .249 with 148 homers, 430 RBI, 684 runs scored and 126 steals in 1,142 games.

The 32-year-old Weeks hit .274 with eight homers and 29 RBI in 121 games this past season. He lost the everyday second base job to Scooter Gennett.

Weeks' 2015 salary would have been guaranteed had he reached 600 plate appearances last season.

Gallardo, who went 8-11 with a 3.51 ERA over 32 starts in 2014, will earn $13 million next season before being eligible for free agency.
