Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders will miss the remainder of the preseason after having minor surgery but is expected to be available for the start of the regular season

The Bucks said Friday that Sanders underwent "a minor outpatient surgical procedure" at a hospital in Milwaukee but offered no other details.

Sanders had surgery last November to repair a torn ligament in his thumb and suffered a season-ending broken orbital bone near his right eye in February.

He also served a five-game suspension over marijuana use and played in just 23 total games, averaging 7.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in his fourth NBA season.

The Bucks open the regular season Oct. 29 in Charlotte.
