ST. FRANCIS, Wis. - Already without No. 2 overall pick Jabari Parker and centre Larry Sanders, the surprising Bucks suffered another blow Saturday when they announced that reserve point guard Kendall Marshall would be lost for the season with a torn ACL.

Marshall hurt the knee Thursday when the Bucks faced the Knicks in London.

"He's been great for us," said Bucks coach Jason Kidd. "It's disappointing. It's an unfortunate accident for a player who was playing well."

Marshall was claimed off waivers by Milwaukee last summer and was averaging 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 28 games while anchoring a bench unit that is first in the league this season with 43.6 points per game.

"We'll play the 11 that we have and we'll go from there," Kidd said. "Kendall brought a lot to the table for us, being able to anchor that second group, keep the ball moving and post up, too."

The Bucks finished an NBA worst 15-67 a year ago but are 21-19 this season, despite playing without a number of key contributors for various stretches.

"We don't plan to stop having a good season," Marshall said. "We've been through a lot of adversity this year. We've had a lot of stuff to deal with so this is another small bump in the road that we have to find a way to get through and hopefully come out better."

Parker has been lost with a season-ending left knee injury.

Sanders, who hasn't played since Dec. 23, will miss at least 10 more games after being suspended by the NBA for marijuana use. It is the second suspension for violating the league's anti-drug program in less than a year. Sanders missed the final five games of the 2013-14 season.

"We want to see him get through this and become a better person and a better teammate," Kidd said. "We'll have a conversation at some point."

After appearing in just 23 games last season, Sanders has played 27 times this season and was averaging 7.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in 21.7 minutes.

He's in the first year of a four-year, $44 million contract extension signed before last season.

The 6-foot-11 shot-blocking centre missed time last season for 27 games with a fracture near the eye. He was also sidelined 25 games last season after surgery on his right thumb following an injury from a bar fight.
