NETANYA, Israel — Wesley Berg and Mark Cockerton both had two goals and an assist as Canada rebounded from its first loss of the world lacrosse championship with a 10-5 win over the Iroquois Nationals on Monday.

Curtis Dickson and Ben McIntosh also scored twice for the defending champion Canadians (3-1), who were coming off a close 11-10 loss to the archrival United States on Sunday.

Joshua Byrne, with a goal and an assist, and Kevin Crowley also scored for Canada. Dillon Ward made 24 saves, including 12 in the first quarter.

Randy Staats led the Iroquois Nationals (2-2) with two goals and two assists. Miles Thompson had a goal and an assist, while Ty Thompson and Frankie Brown also scored.

Iroquois starting goalie Warren Hill made seven saves and surrendered 10 goals. He was replaced with just under seven minutes to go in regulation by Tyler Armstrong, who was not called upon to make a save.

Dickson scored the first two goals of the game, and Byrne also found the net to give Canada a 3-0 edge after the first quarter.

Crowley put Canada up 4-0 3:56 into the second quarter, but the Iroquois Nationals responded with goals from Ty Thompson and Staats.

Cockerton scored late in the second to give Canada a 5-2 advantage at the half.

Canada started the second half quickly as Cockerton scored his second 7:11 into the third quarter, then Berg scored twice to put Canada up 8-2. The Iroquois Nationals pulled one back before the end of the third quarter when Miles Thompson scored.

McIntosh scored to open the fourth before Staats and Brown replied to cut the lead to 9-5. But McIntosh's second of the game at 12:57 of the fourth capped the scoring to give Canada the win.

Canada moved into sole possession of second place in the blue group behind the undefeated Americans, while the Iroquois Nationals fell into a third-place tie with Australia.

The Canadians wrap preliminary-round play Tuesday against Australia, while the Iroquois Nationals finish with a match against Scotland.
