The Montreal Canadiens announced on Thursday that defenceman Greg Pateryn will miss eights weeks with a fractured ankle.

The blueliner was hurt on Tuesday in a game in St. Louis against the Blues.

The news comes in the same week as the Habs announced that both Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais will miss 6-to-8 weeks with knee injuries.

Pateryn, 26, has a goal and four assists in 19 games for Montreal this season.
