Montreal Canadiens right wing P.A. Parenteau left the ice during the team's Saturday night pre-season game against the Ottawa Senators with a lower-body injury.

Parenteau blocked a shot in the first period and headed for the dressing room.

The club has announced that he will not return to the game.

The Canadiens acquired Parenteau via trade over the off-season from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Danny Briere. The 31-year-old scored 14 goals and 19 assists in 55 games with the Avalanche in 2013-14.
