MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens recalled defenceman Nathan Beaulieu and forward Michael Bournival from the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday.

Beaulieu, 21, has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs, scoring one goal at the AHL level. He played 17 regular season games with Montreal last year, registering two points and eight penalty minutes and added two more assists in seven post-season games with the Canadiens.

In 57 regular season games with Hamilton, Beaulieu — Montreal's first-round pick in the 2011 NHL draft — recorded 27 points (seven goals, 20 assists) and 33 penalty minutes.

Bournival has played in four games with the Bulldogs this season, recording four points (one goal, three assists) and two penalty minutes. The 22-year-old split the 2013-14 season between the NHL and AHL, recording 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 60 regular-season games for Montreal, and one assist in 14 playoff games.

Bournival was originally selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round of the 2010 NHL draft and was acquired by the Canadiens in exchange for defenceman Ryan O'Byrne in November of that year.
