WINNIPEG — Matthew Savoie recorded a hat trick and three assists as the Winnipeg Ice outduelled the Regina Pats 9-5 on Thursday.

Owen Pederson, with two goals and added two assists, Zach Benson, Ty Nash, Connor McClennon and Connor Dale also scored for Winnipeg (19-1-0) which is now on a 14-game winning streak. Mason Beaupit made 21 saves.

Connor Bedard, Tanner Howe, Layton Feist, Braxton Whitehead and Stanislav Svozil all responded for Regina (9-10-1-1). Matthew Kieper stopped 32 shots in the loss.

With the score knotted at 4-4 entering the final period, the Ice blew the game wide open. Winnipeg scored four unanswered goals just 9:08 into the frame. After Feist notched the Pats lone goal of the period, Nash netted the final goal for the Ice with 2:02 remaining.
