The Los Angeles Clippers have signed guard/forward Dahntay Jones to a 10-day contract.

The 34-year-old was a first-round pick (20th overall) of the Boston Celtics in 2003.

The 10-year veteran has had stops in Memphis, Sacramento, Denver, Indiana, Dallas and Atlanta. He did not play in the NBA last season.

Jones, a 6-6 swingman, has career averages of 5.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

He was cut by the Utah Jazz in training camp before joining the D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants this season.

“He’s been in and out, but he’s a defensive-minded guy,” said head coach Doc Rivers in a team release. “I think that’s what we need.”

The Clippers roster now stands at 15.
