Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson edged out first baseman Justin Smoak to take home Player of the Year honours as voted on by the Toronto chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Donaldson's total of 33 home runs and 78 RBI to go along with an OPS of .944 were just enough to take down Smoak's 38 homers, 90 RBI and .833 OPS. Smoak's production dipped dramatically over the final two months, hitting just .213. Meanwhile, Donaldson hit .302 over that span according to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com.

On the mound, starter Marcus Stroman was the unanimous selection for Pitcher of the Year after posting a record of 13-9 with a 3.09 ERA.

Reliever Danny Barnes took home Rookie of the Year honours on an ERA of 3.55 in 66 innings.

The Blue Jays finished at 76-86, missing the playoffs for the first time in two seasons.
