The Edmonton Eskimos signed offensive lineman Justin Sorensen to a contract extension through the 2018 season on Thursday.

Sorensen, who joined Edmonton in February 2014, has started 42 regular season games and six playoff games at centre, including the 2015 Grey Cup Championship victory.

The six-foot-eight South Carolina product entered the league in 2008 as a first round selection by the BC Lions in the CFL Draft. In 2011, he signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he played for three seasons. Sorensen has amassed 116 career games.

He was the Eskimos nominee for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman this season.
