Calgary Flames defenceman Travis Hamonic did not return to Friday's game against the Washington Capitals because of a lower-body injury.

Hamonic went to the Flames' dresing room after getting tangled up in front of the Calgary net with Jakub Vrana. The Caps went on to win the game 4-3.

Flames head coach Bill Peters said after the game that Hamonic will be re-evaluated on Saturday.

The 28-year-old has three goals and nine assists in 41 games so far this season. The Flames will be back in action Sunday afternoon in Carolina against the Hurricanes.
