The Vegas Golden Knights have announced that the team has signed forward Nikita Gusev to a one-year, entry-level contract.

He is expected to report to the Golden Knights and practise with the team on Monday. He will wear jersey No. 17.

The Moscow, Russia native led his KHL squad SKA St. Petersburg to a Western Conference Final appearance this season. The 26-year-old led the league in points with 82 (17 goals, 65 assists) in 62 regular-season games and was second in playoff scoring with 19 points.

Gusev has represented Team Russia on numerous occasions, winning gold as part of the Olympic Athletes of Russia at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, bronze at the 2017 world championship and silver at the 2012 World Juniors.

The Golden Knights acquired Gusev's rights during the 2017 NHL expansion draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning.
