Grand Slam winners take the court tonight on Day 3 of the Australian Open in Melbourne. The lineup features the reigning men’s and women’s Australian Open champions Roger Federer and Caroline Wozniacki, along with top-ranked players Rafael Nadal, Kevin Anderson, Sloane Stephens, and Marin Cilic.

Sloane Stephens vs. Timea Babos – LIVE on TSN5 at (approx.) 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT

Stephens, the No. 5 ranked player in the world, takes on No. 66 Hungarian Babos for a spot in the third round of the Australian Open. The 2017 US Open champion Stephens and Babos won three slams as a junior doubles team in 2010. Stephens seeks back-to-back wins in Melbourne for the first time in five years, while Babos looks to win back-to-back matches for the first time since last April. Stephens and Babos have met once before, in 2012 in Strasbourg, which Stephens won in three sets.

Marin Cilic vs. Mackenzie McDonald - LIVE on TSN.ca & TSN App at (approx.) 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT

Cilic takes on American McDonald for the first time in their careers. They are 74 spots apart in the rankings as Cilic currently is ranked seventh in the world, while McDonald is 81st. McDonald made his Australian Open debut last year and has only reached the third round at a major once in his career. Cilic is competing in his 45th Grand Slam and 11th Australian Open main draw and was the runner-up to Federer in the Aussie Open final in 2018.

Kevin Anderson vs. Frances Tiafoe - LIVE on TSN1 at (approx.) 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT

South Africa native Anderson will attempt to reach the third round of the Aussie Open for the first time in four years as he takes on young American Frances Tiafoe.

This is fourth meeting between these two after they faced off three times in 2018. Anderson won all three matches. Anderson, ranked sixth in the world, has yet to win a Grand Slam championship but has two finals appearances the last two years. 

Roger Federer vs. Daniel Evans - LIVE on TSN.ca & TSN App at (approx.) 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT

Federer is currently ranked at No.3 and has won the Australian Open the last two years on the men’s side. He faces the 189th ranked Daniel Evans of Great Britain. This will be the third meeting between the two players, and the first since Federer beat Evans in straight sets at Wimbledon in 2016.

Caroline Wozniacki vs. Johanna Larsson – LIVE on TSN1 at (approx.) 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT

Wozniacki is the reigning women’s Australian Open winner and the No. 3 ranked Dane goes up against world No. 77 Johanna Larsson. Before the tournament, Wozniacki was coming off a second-round exit at the ASB Classic, courtesy of Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu. However, she won her first-round matchup against Alison Van Uytvanck in straight sets. On Larsson’s side, she was trailing in her first round matchup before her opponent Vera Lapko retired. Otherwise, she has only won two previous matches at the Australian Open in seven appearances.

Angelique Kerber vs. Beatriz Haddad Maia – LIVE on TSN.ca & TSN App at (approx.) 3:00 a.m. ET/Midnight PT

Kerber is ranked second in the world and faces off against Haddad Maia, the former world No.58 in their first ever matchup. Kerber is looking for her 100th Grand Slam main draw win while Haddad Maia is looking to become the first Brazilian player to reach the third round at the Australian Open in the Open era.

Rafael Nadal vs. Matthew Ebden – LIVE ON TSN.ca & TSN App at (approx.) 5:00 a.m. ET/2:00 a.m. PT

The No. 2 ranked Nadal takes on Australian Matthew Ebden in the final match of Day 3. The Australian Ebden is ranked 48 in the world. The two have faced each other just once, back in 2011 at Queen’s Club, which Nadal won in two sets. Nadal has retired or withdrawn from 17 out of his last 18 hardcourt tournaments.
