MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Grizzlies have signed forward Tyrus Thomas to a 10-day contract, calling him up from Memphis' NBA Development League affiliate in Iowa.

General manager Chris Wallace announced the deal Thursday.

The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Thomas has played two games with the Iowa Energy. He's averaging 14.5 points and 7 rebounds shooting 58.8 per cent overall.

Now 28, Thomas was the fourth overall pick in 2006 by Portland out of LSU. He is averaging 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.31 blocks in 400 career games with 129 starts in seven seasons with Chicago and Charlotte.
