Montreal Canadiens defenceman Shea Weber will see a foot specialist on Wednesday, two days after head coach Claude Julien announced he had been shut down  indefinitely for the second time this season.

"Shea Weber will see a specialist today, so we’re hoping to have more news on him in the coming days," Julien said Wednesday.

Weber has not played since facing the Ottawa Senators in  the NHL 100 Classic on Dec. 16. He resumed skating on Feb. 7 after having a walking removed.

Julien said Monday Weber was not "feeling comfortable" in his rehab from the injury, which he played through early in the season. He then added Weber would only return once he was 100 per cent.

The 32-year-old has six goals and 16 points in 26 games this season while averaging 25:21 of ice time per contest.
