The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Wednesday the team has released veteran wide receiver Jalen Saunders.

Saunders, who missed the second half of last season with a knee injury, re-signed with the team in December, avoiding free agency.

The 26-year-old was in the midst of a solid sophomore campaign with the Tiger-Cats before getting hurt, registering 45 receptions for 739 yards and two touchdowns.

Saunders led the Ticats in receiving yards his rookie season in 2017 and had 121 receptions for 1,909 yards in his 25 games with the team.
