CLEVELAND - Markus Hannikainen scored twice to lead the Lake Erie Monsters past the Manitoba Moose 4-2 on Wednesday in American Hockey League play.
Daniel Zaar and Dean Kukan also scored as Lake Erie (11-4-2) built a 3-0 lead by the 8:05 mark of the second period. Anton Forsberg made 23 saves for the win.
JC Lipon and Chase De Leo had a goal and an assist each for Manitoba (4-10-2), the minor-league affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets. Eric Comrie stopped 39 shots for the Moose.
The Monsters went 0 for 5 on the power play, while Manitoba was 2 for 6 with the man advantage.
