MONTREAL CANADIENS

The Canadiens have placed forward Michael Chaput on waivers. The move was made necessary after their trade on Monday to acquire Nate Thompson.

Chaput, 26, has five assists in 32 games with the Canadiens this season while posting a minus-4 rating.

Also on Tuesday, the team announced that forward Paul Byron will not play on their upcoming three-game road trip. Byron has been out since Feb. 3 due to a forearm injury sustained against the Edmonton Oilers.

 

OTTAWA SENATORS

Goaltender Craig Anderson will not dress when the Senators host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.

Anderson was hit in the eye with a tennis ball, according the Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch. Anders Nilsson will start in goal for Ottawa. Filip Gustavsson was called up from Belleville (AHL) and will back up Nilsson.

BOSTON BRUINS

David Pastrnak will miss at least two weeks with a thumb injury.

Pastrnak fell during a team function and is expected to return this season.

WINNIPEG JETS

The team announced they have sent defeceman Sami Niku to Mantioba (AHL). Niku had two assists in 11 games with this season with the Jets.

BUFFALO SABRES

Sabres forward Casey Middlestadt left the team's morning skate with a lower-body injury. Head coach Phil Housley said he is a gametime decision for Tuesday's contest against the New York Islanders.

Zack Bogosian was not on the ice for the morning skate ahead of their game against the Islanders. He missed Sunday's game againt the Winnipeg Jets with a lower-body injury. 

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Ondrej Palat is on the ice for the team's morning skate ahead of their game against the Calgary Flames Tuesday night. Palat has missed one game with an upper-body injury.
