Anaheim Ducks 

C Ryan Getzlaf is expected to make his return to the lineup Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Ducks captain has missed the last six weeks with a fractured zygomatic bone and last played October 29 against the Hurricanes. 

The 32-year-old had one goal and six assists in six games before the injury. 

RW Jared Boll has been place on waivers. He has one goal in eight games this season. 


Chicago Blackhawks 

D Cody Franson is unlikely to play on Sunday due to an upper-body injury according to the Chicago Sun-Times. 

The 30-year-old has one goal and six assists in 19 games in his first season in Chicago.


Colorado Avalanche 

D Erik Johnson left Saturday's 7-3 win over the Florida Panthers after blocking a shot in the third period is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. 

The former first-overall pick has four goals and seven assists this season. 


Pittsburgh Penguins 

RW Patrick Hornqvist was injured after taking a puck to the head during the third period of Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs and did not return. There has been no update on his status. 

The veteran has 11 goals and nine assists in 28 games for the Penguins this season. 


St. Louis Blues 

LW Jaden Schwartz was placed on the injured reserve with a right ankle injury and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Schwartz sustained the injury while blocking a Mike Green shot during the first period of Saturday's 6-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

The former first-round pick is second on the team in points with 14 goals and 21 assists in 30 games this season.   

D Alex Pietrangelo will miss Sunday's game against the Buffalo Sabres after injuring himself blocking a shot on Satudrday. The 27-year-old will attempt to skate on Monday. 

Pietrangelo has seven goals and 16 assists this season and leads all Blues defenders in points. 


San Jose Sharks 

D Dylan Demelo left Saturday's 5-0 win over the Ottawa Senators after taking a stick in the face from Alex Burrows.

Teammate  Logan Couture spoke out about the incident, "It was a butt end in the face. I had a pretty clear view of it. It's unfortunate, he cuts him between the eyes. It's something that doesn't belong in this game and it's a player that's had a history".  

Burrows got a five-minute penalty and a game for the hit. 


Washington Capitals 

RW TJ Oshie will not join the team on their trip to New York meaning he will not play against the New York Islanders on Monday. He has been sidelined since December 4 with an upper-body injurt. 

Oshie has 10 goals and 13 assists in 28 games for the Capitals this season.
