Montreal Canadiens

The Habs have recalled goaltender Michael McNiven and loaned defenceman Karl Alzner to the AHL's Laval Rocket. McNiven will back up Antti Niemi tomorrow afternoon against the New Jersey Devils. Carey Price won't be in uniform due to skipping the All-Star game. 

Edmonton Oilers

Oscar Klefbom, who has been out since Dec. 11 with a hand injury after blocking a shot, participated in Edmonton's practice on Friday and will travel with the team to Philadelphia and Montreal this weekend. Head coach Ken Hitchcock says his playing status is still to be determined. The 25-year-old has three goals and 12 assists over 31 games this season with the Oilers. 

Winnipeg Jets

Injured Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien (ankle) and forward Nikolaj Ehlers (upper-body) both returned to practice on Friday ahead of their game Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks. Byfuglien has not played since Dec. 29 after suffering the injury in a game against the Minnesota Wild. The 33-year-old appeared to hurt his leg when he and Wild forward Luke Kunin collided along the boards. Ehlers has been out with his injury since Jan. 5. - Ken Wiebe, Winnipeg Sun

Ottawa Senators 

Anders Nilsson will get the start between the pipes Friday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, head coach Guy Boucher confirmed after practice. The 28-year-old has a 4-3 record with a 2.14 goals-against average over seven games with Ottawa this season. Forward Colin While will return to the lineup as well while Ben Harpur will be scratched.
