The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed forward Matt Calvert to a three-year contract on Thursday.

The 25-year-old had 13 goals and 10 assists in 56 games for Columbus last season.

"Matt Calvert is a heart and soul player, who works hard on and off the ice and is a relentless competitor at both ends of the rink," said Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen. "He's been an important contributor to our team and we are excited that he will continue to be a part of our organization moving forward."

Over five NHL seasons with the Blue Jackets, Calvert has tallied 42 goals and 44 assists in 209 games.
