The Toronto Blue Jays claimed right-handed pitcher Donn Roach off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday afternoon. He will report to Triple-A Buffalo this week.

The 25-year-old has appeared in one game this season in the big leagues, a start with the Chicago Cubs where he allowed four earned runs over 3.1 innings pitched and was stuck with the loss. He was claimed by the Reds on June 5.

Roach is 9-6 with a 3.50 ERA in 22 starts at the Triple-A level this season.

He appeared in 16 games last season with the San Diego Padres and posted a 1-0 record with a 4.75 ERA.

The club also transferred outfielder Michael Saunders to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Roach.
