FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The New York Jets have signed free agent wide receiver Charles Johnson and linebacker Kevin Minter.

Johnson becomes the 17th receiver on the Jets' roster, which includes Jermaine Kearse, Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa and recently signed Terrelle Pryor.

Johnson was signed by Carolina last off-season after three seasons in Minnesota. He was waived-injured last July after having surgery on his right knee. Johnson was a seventh-round pick of Green Bay in 2013 and also spent time with Cleveland as a rookie. He has 60 career catches for 834 yards and two touchdowns — both from current Jets quarterback Teddy Bridgewater while they were in Minnesota in 2014.

Minter played for Cincinnati last season but spent his first four seasons in Arizona, where his defensive co-ordinator was current Jets coach Todd Bowles from 2013-14. The Cardinals' 2013 second-round pick has 255 career tackles with five sacks.
