FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The New York Jets have waived wide receiver ArDarius Stewart, who served a two-game suspension to start the season.

Stewart was a third-round draft pick last year out of Alabama and caught six passes for 82 yards in 15 games as a rookie. He also had seven rushes for 27 yards.

Stewart was suspended two games by the NFL after violating the league's policy on performance enhancers. He returned to the team Monday. The Jets had a two-day roster exemption and needed to either activate him and cut someone in his place, or waive him.

With the team's decision Wednesday, both of the wide receivers the Jets drafted last year — Stewart and fourth-rounder Chad Hansen — have been waived. Hansen was among New York's final cuts earlier this month.
