UFC president Dana White said the former champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to the Octagon at some point and on Monday USADA confirmed that the heavyweight had re-entered the testing pool.

Lesnar has six months and four days remaining on his ineligibility stemming from a suspension he received after failing a test at UFC 200 and will be able to compete after January 8, as long as he remains compliant with the anti-doping policy.

The 40-year-old entered the cage after the main event of UFC 226 and confronted new heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier sparking the speculation that the two would meet in a future title match.

Lesnar’s victory over Mark Hunt at the landmark UFC 200 event in July of 2016 was overturned into a no contest after he tested positive for clomiphene.

Lesnar recently re-signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and currently holds the promotion’s Universal title.
