Tampa Bay Lighting first-round pick Cal Foote signed a three-year entry-level contract on Sunday and is expected to report to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League this week, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger.

The Bolts selected the 19-year-old defenceman 14th overall last summer at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Foote has 19 goals and 51 assists over 60 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League in 2017-18, his third season in the league. The Rockets were swept by the Tri-City Americans in the opening round of the WHL playoffs.

Foote helped Canada win the gold-medal at this year's world junior hockey championship in Buffalo.
