The Toronto Raptors officially confirmed the signing of veteran point guard Jeremy Lin, and he will be in the lineup tonight against the Washington Wizards.

The 30-year-old Harvard product was waived by the Atlanta Hawks on Monday and went unclaimed in the requisite 48 hours required to make the signing official.

Watch the game live on TSN, TSN.ca and TSN Direct tonight at 7pm et/4pm pt.

In 51 games with the Hawks this season, Lin averaged 10.7 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds.

A native of Torrance, CA, Lin has appeared in 457 games over nine seasons with the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets and Hawks.

His arrival comes at a fortuitous time for the Raptors with the club dealing with point-guard depth issues.

Fred VanVleet is set for surgery on his injured thumb and will be out for at least five weeks.
