The BC Lions announced a trio of national signings Thursday, highlighted by veteran defensive back Cauchy Muamba.

Muamba spent the past four seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos and the move reunites the St. Francis Xavier with GM Ed Hervey, who was the Eskimos’ GM in Muamba’s first three years with the team.

The eight-year CFL veteran has 147 tackles and 10 interceptions in 108 career games split between the Eskimos, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Lions, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2010.

The Lions also signed defensive back Mike Dubuisson and re-signed defensive lineman Edward Godin.

Dubuisson is another former Eskimo who’s time in Edmonton overlapped with Hervey. The Windsor product played two games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders last year.

Godin was selected by the Lions in the fifth round last year before returning to Laval for his final year of university eligibility.
