Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Nationals activated catcher Wilson Ramos from the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the Chicago Cubs.

Ramos had missed Washington's last 14 games due to a strained right hamstring he sustained June 10 at San Francisco.

The 26-year-old has appeared in just 24 games this season, having also missed all of April after undergoing surgery to repair a hamate bone fracture. Ramos, who hit a career-high 16 home runs in 2013, is batting .261 with one homer and 11 RBI on the year.

With Ramos back healthy, the Nationals optioned catcher Sandy Leon to Triple-A Syracuse.
