The NBA 2K League will hand out six awards after its inaugural season: MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sportsmanship Award, Community Engagement Award, and the Play of the Year, sources told TSN.ca. (UPDATE: The league confirmed the awards in a media release on Aug. 3, 2018.)

The Sportsmanship Award will be given to an individual player who best exemplfiies sportsmanship on the court (presumably, on-stage and in the NBA 2K League Studio, powered by Intel), while the Community Engagement Award will go to the team that best engages with its local community.

No date has been set for handing out these awards, and the voting process for them has not been finalized.

Besides for the season's award, the league has also not publicly announced any details about expansion for next season. Expansion in 2019 is certain, however, as confirmed by League Managing Director Brendan Donohue in an interview with Brian Mazique of Forbes.

The 2018 season will conclude with the best-of-three NBA 2K League Finals, which will take place on Aug. 25, 2018. Blazer5 Gaming has qualfiied for the playoffs as the No. 1 seed, while Knicks Gaming earned an automatic playoff berth by winning the "Ticket" tournament.
