Bears sign DE Lynch to one-year deal

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears have signed defensive end Aaron Lynch to a one-year deal.

Grant's deal put on hold with Ravens

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there is a holdup in the expected $29 million deal between the Baltimore Ravens and wide receiver Ryan Grant, a source said. The team found something in the physical that concerned the team.

Update: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Grant failed his physical and the deal is null and void and Grant will have to find a new deal. The failed physical was over an ankle injury suffered in the final regular season game last year when Grant was with the Washington Redskins. Schefter adds that the Ravens are expected to focus on receiver Michael Crabtree, who will visit the team on Friday. He was cut by the Oakland Raiders today.

Landing spot for Suh?

There is 'tangible interest' between Ndamukong Suh and the Seattle Seahawks, according to a report from Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz.

"Ndamukong Suh tells me he had a great phone conversation with Pete Carroll last night and that there is tangible interest between both parties," Schultz tweeted. "The Seahawks are very excited about Suh -- who has a host of potential suitors -- given how dominant and disruptive he is."

Schultz added that Suh has a number of teams interested in his services and there were reports Wednesday the veteran defensive tackle will simply sign with the highest bidder, so this report is far from a done deal, but the Seahawks should be considered one of the favourites for him.

One team that is looking to get in the chase for the disruptive defensive tackle is the New Orleans Saints. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Saints are working to bring Suh in for a visit. It would be Suh's first visit.

Suh was released by the Dolphins on Wednesday after two seasons with the team. The 31-year-old finished with 29 tackles for 4.5 sacks in the second year of a six-year, $114.375 million deal but was released as part of a reported culture change in Miami.

Raiders add running back depth

The Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms with long-time Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin one a one-year deal, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

The signing is being viewed as running back depth but there is still a possibility Marshawn Lynch is not back with the Raiders next season.

The 29-year-old Martin has struggled the past two seasons, starting 16 games over that span and rushing 282 times for 827 yards, a 2.9 yards per rush average. Martin has six touchdowns over that span.

Martin was suspended four games for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs towards the end of the 2016 season.

Bengals keeping TE Eifert

The top tight end is off the board with the Cincinnati Bengals reaching a one-year deal to retain Tyler Eifert, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 27-year-old Eifert played in just two games last season and 10 the past two seasons combined after battling injuries. In his last fairly healthy season, 2015, Eifert finished with 52 receptions for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Poe heading to the Panthers

Defensive tackle Dontari Poe is expected to sign with the Carolina Panthers, according to a report from the Washington Post's Kimberley A. Martin.

Martin added Washington had interest in the 27-year-old. Poe played last season with the Atlanta Falcons after five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished 2017 with 23 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added the financial terms: three years at $9-10 million per season.

Richardson visiting Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings could be adding another big name to their free agent haul. On the same day quarterback Kirk Cousins is in the building, defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson is visiting the Vikings, according to a report from ProFootballTalk.

Richardson spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks after four seasons with the New York Jets. The 27-year-old finished with 27 tackles and a sack in 15 games for the Seahawks.

Seattle reportedly has interest in bringing Richardson back, but could be focusing their defensive line attention on Ndamukong Suh.

Browns trade McCourty to Patriots

The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday they have traded defensive back Jason McCourty and a seventh round draft pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for a sixth round draft pick.

McCourty spent just one season with the Browns after eight with the Tennessee Titans. The 30-year-old finished with 54 tackles, three interceptions, and 14 pass defences in 14 games in Cleveland last season.

Dolphins adding to the offensive line

Not long after it was reported the Miami Dolphins are expected to grant centre Mike Pouncey's request to be released, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the team is expected to sign former Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers guard Josh Sitton.

Rapoport reported it will be a two-year deal with a base of $15 million that could reach $18 million for the 31-year-old four-time Pro Bowler. After eight years in Green Bay to start his career, Sitton was with the Bears the past two seasons.

The Dolphins have also acquired centre Daniel Kilgore in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers, according to multiple reports. The 49ers will trade Kilgore and a seventh round draft pick to the Dolphins for a seventh round draft pick. The deal comes just one month after the 49ers signed Kilgore to a three-year contract extension.

Washington keeps LB Brown

Washington has agreed to terms with LB Zach Brown, according to a report from JP Finlay from NBCSports Washington.

Brown played 13 games for Washington in his first season with the team, finishing with 84 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Prior to his time with Washington, the 28-year-old Brown played one season with the Buffalo Bills and four with the Tennessee Titans, where he started his NFL career.

Joseph staying in Houston

After seven seasons in Houston, veteran cornerback Jonathan Joseph is sticking around for two more, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Financial terms of the deal were not reported.

The 33-year-old Joseph started his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent five seasons before joining Houston. Joseph started all 16 games for the Texans last season, finishing with 37 tackles and two interceptions.

Jaguars sign a pair of tight ends

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed former Washington tight end Niles Paul and former New York Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins Thursday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Paul signed a two-year deal with the Jaguars with a base value of just under $5 million that could reach a little under $9 million if Paul hits incentives.

The 28-year-old Paul has spent six seasons in Washington since being drafted by the team in the fifth round in 2011. Last year Paul finished with 13 receptions for 94 yards.

Rapoport reported the terms for Seferian-Jenkins are two years and $10 million.

Seferian-Jenkins has split his four-year career between the Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who drafted him in the second round in 2014. The 25-year-old finished last season with 50 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games with 10 starts.

WR Brown visiting Seahawks

While most Seahawks fans will be monitoring the Ndamukong Suh reports more closely, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the team could be making a smaller move, with free agent receiver Jaron Brown visiting the team Thursday.

In 16 games with eight starts for the Arizona Cardinals last season, Brown recorded 31 receptions for 477 yards and four touchdowns. The 28-year-old has spent all five of his NFL seasons with the Cardinals.
