Dallas Mavericks forward Nerlens Noel and Utah Jazz forward Thabo Sefolosha have both been suspended five games for violating the NBA’s anti-drug program.

Noel’s suspension begins with Tuesday’s game between the Mavericks and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Sefolosha’s ban will begin with the next game that he is both eligible and physically able to play.

Noel has appeared in 30 games this season for the Mavericks and has averaged 4.4 points and 5.6 rebounds.  He is in his second season with team after a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers brought him over last February.

The 23-year-old was selected sixth overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the 76ers.

Sefolosha has played in 38 games for the Jazz in 2017-18 and has posted 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.  The 33-year-old had surgery to repair an avulsion of the medial collateral ligament in January and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
