Contrary to a previous report from NFL Network, it appears that Odell Beckham Jr. will not hold out for a new contract.

The star wide receiver told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he is planning to be at the New York Giants facility Monday for the first day of the team's offseason conditioning program, and will "check in, workout in the gym and meet with some people."

The 25-year old Beckham Jr., who's entering the last year of his rookie contract, has dominated NFL offeseason headlines for several weeks now.

First, video surfaced of what appeared to be Beckham Jr. holding a cigarette or cigar alongside a woman who had a credit card nearby a white powdery substance. Shortly after that, speaking at the annual owners meetings, Giants co-owner John Mara told the media that neither Beckham Jr. or any of the team's other players were "untouchable" in regards to potential trades this off-season. On the heels of Mara's comments NFL Network reported that Beckham Jr. would "not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to with the Giants or any other team."

Recently there have been reports that the Giants were willing to listen to offers for their star wide receiver. The Los Angeles Rams, who have pulled off a series of roster additions this off-season, were thought to at one time be the favourites to trade for Beckham Jr., but that is no longer seemingly the case in the wake of the team acquiring fellow wideout Brandin Cooks from the New England Patriots last week.

Beckham Jr. was named to the Pro Bowl his first three seasons in the league after being drafted by the Giants with the 12th overall pick out of LSU in the 2014 draft. He spent the majority of last season on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Beckham Jr. owns career numbers of 313 receptions for 4,424 yards and 38 touchdowns.
