PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Zach Gallant scored a hat trick and Hunter Jones turned away 34 shots as the Peterborough Petes sunk the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday evening.

Gallant picked up the game-winning goal for the Petes (4-1-0) at 16:31 of the third period. Pavel Gogolev and Chad Denault also scored for the Petes.

Zack Trott and Morgan Frost answered for the Greyhounds (2-2-1).

Matthew Villalta turned aside 39 shots for Sault Ste. Marie.

The Petes went 0 for 6 on the power play. The Greyhounds were 0 for 6 with the man advantage.

NIAGARA, Ont. — Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 46 saves as Sudbury pulled out a win over Niagara.

Peter Stratis notched the game-winning goal for the Wolves (4-2-0) at 15:27 of the third period. Darian Pilon and Blake Murray also scored for the Wolves. Kyen Sopa and Kirill Maksimov replied for the IceDogs (3-2-0).

Stephen Dhillon turned aside 18 shots for Niagara.

WINDSOR, Ont. — Michael DiPietro made 32 saves as Windsor shut out London.

Curtis Douglas racked up the game-winning goal for the Spitfires (3-2-0) at 13:56 of the first period. Cole Purboo also scored for the Spitfires.

Joseph Raaymakers turned away 26 shots for London (2-2-0).

STEELHEADS 2 COLTS 1

BARRIE, Ont. — James Hardie had a goal and an assist and Jacob Ingham turned aside 30 shots as Mississauga subdued Barrie.

Hardie potted the game-winning goal for the Steelheads at 4:59 of the first period. Cole Carter also scored for the Steelheads (3-1-1). Matej Pekar scored the lone goal for the Colts (2-2-1).

Jet Greaves turned away 28 shots for Barrie.

The Colts' Justin Murray was issued a game misconduct for a helmet infraction during a fight at 15:44 of the first period.
