ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Akil Thomas had two goals and three points and Jack Studnicka added a hat trick as the Niagara IceDogs downed the Flint Firebirds 7-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Jason Robertson scored once and set up two more and Jake Uberti tacked on a goal and an assist for the IceDogs (26-10-7).

Ty Dellandrea and Ethan Keppen scored for the Firebirds (8-35-3).

Stephen Dhillon kicked out 32 shots for Niagara as Luke Cavallin turned aside 42-of-49 shots for Flint.

The IceDogs went 2 for 3 on the power play while the Firebirds were 0 for 3 with the man advantage.

OTTAWA — Marco Rossi scored twice in a 2:02 span in the second as the 67's toppled Hamilton.

Alec Belanger, Kody Clark and Tye Felhaber also scored while Michael DiPietro made 24 saves for league-leading Ottawa (32-9-4).

Matthew Strome, Liam Van Loon and Liam Stevens responded for the Bulldogs (20-21-4). Nick Donofrio turned away 26-of-30 shots in defeat.

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Alan Lyszczarczyk had a hat trick as Mississauga handed the Attack their fourth loss in as many games.

Thomas Harley, Nick McHugh and Cole Schwindt also scored for the Steelheads (20-19-5), who got 25 saves from Jacob Ingham.

Barret Kirwin, Maksim Sushko and Trenton Bourque responded for Owen Sound (22-18-4). Andrew MacLean stopped 28 shots in defeat.

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Hunter Jones made 31 saves as six different Petes skaters scored to beat Sarnia and snap a four-game losing streak.

Nick Robertson, Cameron Butler, Shawn Spearing, Ryan Merkley, John Parker-Jones and Chad Denault had goals for Peterborough (23-19-2).

Jacob Perreault, Colton Kammerer and Franco Sproviero scored while Ethan Langevin stopped 31 shots for the Sting (19-20-7). Winger Curtis Egert was given a game misconduct for checking to the head at 9:53 of the second.

BARRIE, Ont. — Keeghan Howdeshell had three goals and an assist and Morgan Frost added two goals and two helpers as Sault Ste. Marie beat the Colts for its fifth win in a row.

Cullen McLean, Cole MacKay and Holden Wale also scored while Mac Hollowell tacked on three assists for the Greyhounds (29-10-5). Matthew Villalta made 25 saves for the victory.

Ryan Suzuki, Tyson Foerster, Luke Bignell, Dalton Duhart and Jacob Tortora supplied the Barrie (19-23-1) offence. Kai Edmonds allowed five goals on 19 shots before giving way to Jet Greaves, who stopped 21-of-23 shots in 29 minutes of relief but took the loss.

SAGINAW, Mich. — Owen Tippett had a goal and an assist and Ivan Prosvetov made 28 saves as the Spirit dealt Erie its fourth loss in a row.

Reagan O'Grady, Cole Coskey, Jake Goldowski, Damien Giroux and Danny Katic rounded out the attack for Saginaw (27-12-4).

Danial Singer and Daniel D'Amato responded for the Otters (18-25-2). Daniel Murphy turned away 42 shots in a losing cause.
