HAMILTON — Robert Thomas had a goal and two assists and Will Bitten scored shorthanded as the Hamilton Bulldogs toppled the Kingston Frontenacs 7-1 on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven Ontario Hockey League conference final.

Nicholas Caamano, MacKenzie Entwistle, Brandon Saigeon, Ryan Moore and Riley Stillman also scored for Hamilton.

Ryan Cranford had the lone goal for the Frontenacs, who host Game 3 on Sunday.

Bulldogs goaltender Kaden Fulcher made 19 saves. Kingston's Jeremy Helvig stopped 30 shots.

Hamilton was 2 for 5 on the power play while the Frontenacs failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

GREYHOUNDS 3 RANGERS 2

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Connor Timmins scored the go-ahead goal shorthanded with one second left as the Greyhounds edged Kitchener in Game 1 of their conference final.

Timmins tied the game midway through the second period with his first goal. Jack Kopacka had the other Sault Ste. Marie goal on a power play in the first period.

Connor Bunnaman and Givani Smith scored power-play goals for the Rangers.

Sault Ste. Marie hosts Game 2 on Saturday.
