OpTic Gaming really went the distance to capture the Call of Duty World League Dallas Open.

The defending CWL Paris Open champions defeated eUnited in the second best-of-five series in the grand finals to take home the $80,000 top prize.

EUnited was forced to win two series as a result of coming up through the losers bracket and they did not disappoint a boisterous crowd in Dallas. Led by Pierce "Gunless" Hillman, the underdogs climbed out of a 2-0 hole in the first best-of-five and pulled off the reverse sweep to earn another chance to take home the title.

Like the first series, OpTic jumped out to a 2-0 lead, much to the delight of the fans, but could not seal the deal yet again in the third and fourth games. But the team who went unbeaten throughout the tournament would not be fooled twice in the grand finals and clinched the championship with a dominating 6-0 win on Search and Destroy in the fifth and final game.

The roster of Seth "Scump" Abner, Damon "Karma" Barlow, Ian "Crimsix" Porter and Matthew "Formal" Piper have won two CWL Opens already in 2017 and finished second to eUnited at CWL Atlanta in February.
