Canada’s Josh Naylor and Tyler O’Neill were named to the World Roster on Tuesday for the annual All-Star Futures Game in San Diego on July 10. Toronto Blue Jays prospect Francisco Rios will join the pair of Canadians on the same squad.

Naylor, 19, was selected 12th overall by the Miami Marlins in the 2015 MLB draft. The Mississauga, Ontario native is in his first full professional season with Greensboro in the Single-A Atlantic League. He earned a spot on the South Atlantic League’s Northern Division All-Star team earlier this month.

The first baseman won a silver medal for Canada at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in 2012. According to MLB.com, he is the second-best prospect in the Marlins’ system.

This isn’t the first time Naylor has participated at the MLB All-Star Weekend. He was the runner-up in the Junior Home Run Derby at Target Field in Minnesota back in 2014.

O’Neill, 21, was drafted in the third round by the Seattle Mariners in 2013. He is in his third professional season, but his first with the Jackson Generals of the Double-A Southern League. The Canuck is second in the league in home runs, and first in RBIs, while batting.310. O’Neill was named to the Southern League All-Star Team earlier this month.

The Maple Ridge, BC native is the Mariners' fourth-best prospect according to MLB.com. O’Neill won a gold medal at the Pan Am Games last summer in Toronto.

Rios, 21, signed with the Jays in 2012 as an international free agent from Mexico. He has a 3-3 record and 2.63 ERA with the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Advanced-A Florida State League.

The Futures Game kicks off the MLB All-Star Weekend festivities. The U.S. Team has won the past six years.
