CALGARY — Anthony Parker signed a contract extension with the Calgary Stampeders on Monday.

The receiver was eligible to become a free agent on Tuesday.

Parker was the team's first-round selection in 2011, and has played 108 career regular-season games since then.

In 2017, Parker had 36 catches for 482 yards and three touchdowns.

"Anthony has been a mainstay of the Stampeders and I'm pleased that he has chosen to re-sign with the team," said Stampeders president and general manager John Hufnagel, adding that he hopes to see Parker take on something of a leadership role.

Parker says the contract extension brings him a step closer to his goal of starting and finishing his career in the same place.
