BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Ivan Chekhovich scored four times and Yaroslav Alexeyev added two goals and an assist as the Baie-Comeau Drakkar extended their win streak to five games, beating the Saint John Sea Dogs 8-1 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Christopher Benoit and Tyler Hylland also scored for the Drakkar (14-3-1) while Nathan Legare tacked on three assists.

William Poirier was the lone scorer for the struggling Sea Dogs (2-13-3), who are on a nine-game winless streak and last in the QMJHL standings.

Justin Blanchette made 29 saves for the win. Saint John netminder Stewart Bagnell turned away 25-of-31 shots before giving way to Tommy DaSilva, who stopped 8-of-10 shots in 14:36 of relief.

The Drakkar went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Sea Dogs went 1-for-2 with the man advantage.



CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Zachary Lavigne scored once and set up two more as the Sagueneens toppled Blainville-Boisbriand.

Xavier Labrecque and Vladislav Kotkov also scored for Chicoutimi (9-4-4) as Alexis Shank made 33 saves for the win.

Luke Henman found the back of the net for the Armada (9-7-1). Emile Samson turned away 19-of-21 shots in defeat.



RIMOUSKI, Que. — Alexis Lafreniere had a hat trick and Jimmy Huntington had two goals and two assists as the Oceanic downed Shawinigan.

Nathan Ouellet also scored for Rimouski (10-8-1) while Lafreniere tacked on an assist for a four-point night. Colten Ellis made 12 saves for the win.

Jan Drozg and Valentin Nussbaumer provided the goals for the Cataractes (5-12-0), losers of three straight. Lucas Fitzpatrick kicked out 34 shots in defeat.



HALIFAX — Walter Flower and Benoit-Olivier Groulx had a pair of goals apiece as the Mooseheads beat Val-d'Or.

Samuel Asselin and Jordan Maher also scored while Alexis Gavel made 21 saves for Halifax (13-4-0).

The Foreurs (5-11-3) offence came from Julien Tessier and Ivan Kozlov. Mathieu Marquis stopped 35 shots in defeat.



SYDNEY, N.S. — Logan Chisholm broke a 2-2 deadlock at 16:38 of the third period as Acadie-Bathurst edged Cape Breton to snap a 10-game losing streak.

Mark Grametbauer turned away 53 shots while Daniil Vertiy and Marc-Andre LeCouffe also scored for the Titan (4-12-1).

Isiah Campbell and Ian Smallwood responded for the Screaming Eagles (8-9-1). William Grimard turned aside 9-of-12 shots in defeat.



GATINEAU, Que. — Vincent Marleau scored once shorthanded and again on the power play as Rouyn-Noranda beat the Olympiques for its third straight win.

Felix Bibeau broke a 3-3 tie at 14:19 of the third while Alex Beaucage had the other for the Huskies (15-4-0). Samuel Harvey made 28 saves for the victory.

Giordano Finoro, Charles'Antoine Roy and Pier-Olivier Lacombe scored for the Olympiques (7-9-3), losers of three in a row. Tristan Berube stopped 32 shots in defeat.



VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Pierre-Olivier Joseph scored in the third to tie it, then won it 37 seconds into overtime as Charlottetown slipped past the Tigres.

Daniel Hardie also had a pair of goals for the Islanders (11-6-1), who got 25 saves from Dakota Lund-Cornish.

Egor Serdyuk scored twice and Vincent Sevigny also found the scoresheet for the Tigres (8-7-2). Fabio Iacoba made 39 saves in defeat.
