MONCTON, N.B. - Will Smith scored twice and added three assists as the Moncton Wildcats exploded for four goals in the first and third periods to beat the Sherbrooke Phoenix 9-3 on Saturday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Taylor Burke also had a pair of goals for Moncton (34-15-3). Dominic Talbot-Tassi, Liam Murphy, Lane Cormier, Noah Zilbert and Bronson Beaton supplied the rest of the offence.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Daniel Audette scored a hat trick for the Phoenix (29-20-4), who have lost three in a row.

Alex Dubeau got the win in goal for the Wildcats, making 25 saves. Evan Fitzpatrick started for Sherbrooke and turned away 24-of-33 shots in 53 minutes. Alex Bureau finished out the game and made two stops.

Moncton converted on two-of-four power-play chances while the Phoenix were unsuccessful on their only chance.

VAL-D'OR, Que. — Oliver Cooper scored 5:28 into the third period on the power play as Charlottetown held on to beat the Foreurs.

Daniel Sprong opened the scoring for the Islanders (27-21-4) in the second before Alexandre Goulet and Kameron Kielly added power-play goals later in the period.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Pierre-Maxime Poudrier and Alexis Pepin all found the back of the net for Val-d'Or (22-22-8).
