Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse was jamming out at the Toronto Jazz Fest in Toronto over the weekend.

He joined the late musician Prince's former band, The New Power Generation, on stage in the festival's opening weekend on June 26.

Nurse introduced the band on stage for their hour-long set, and then came out on stage to perform their set closer, “Purple Rain,” with the band.

The show focused on some of Prince’s biggest hits with NPG, including songs like “Purple Rain,” “Diamonds and Pearls,” “Gett Off,” “Pop Life,” “Sign O’ The Times,” and “Kiss.” The Toronto Jazz Festival is an annual jazz music celebration and street party in the heart of downtown Toronto.

This is not Nick Nurse’s first time jamming out publicly in Toronto. Previously, he performed with Canadian band Arkells in 2019, playing guitar on their song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” at Toronto's Budweiser Stage.
