The Toronto Raptors officially signed free-agent centre Bismack Biyombo on Saturday.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported earlier this month the deal would be worth $6 million over a two-year term. The Raptors did not disclose the value or length of the contract.

The 22-year-old posted 4.8 points, 6.4 rebound and 1.5 blocks per game in 64 contests last season with the Charlotte Hornets.

“Bismack brings athleticism and interior length to our team,” said Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri. “He has proven to be an exceptional rim protector and his physicality will be a great asset to us defensively.”

Biyombo was selected seventh overall in the first round of the 2011 NBA Entry Draft by the Sacramento Kings before being shipped to Charlotte in a draft night trade.
