The Ottawa Redblacks have signed American defensive back Jonathan Rose to a one-year extension.

Rose led the CFL with five interceptions last year, along with four forced fumbles. He also had interceptions in the East final and Grey Cup game.

The 25-year-old signed with the Redblacks in 2016. In 50 career CFL games, Rose has 153 defensive tackles, eight interceptions, six forced fumbles and a touchdown.

TICATS ADD COACH

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have hired D.J. Harper as running backs coach.

Harper spent the last two years as offensive graduate assistant at Fresno State University. He worked with new Ticats head coach Orlondo Steinauer on the NCAA team's coaching staff in 2017.

Harper retired as a player after spending the 2014 season with the Ottawa Redblacks.
