Jason Verrett's season may be over before it even began.

According to multiple reports, the Los Angeles Chargers cornerback suffered an injury that will likely cost him his season during conditioning tests on the first day of training camp, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting the team is concerned he tore his Achilles.

Since being drafted by the Chargers in the first round in 2014, Verrett has struggled to stay healthy. He played just one game last year and has suited up in just 25 games over four seasons for the Chargers.

In Verrett's lone mostly healthy season, the TCU product was named to the Pro Bowl, finishing with 42 tackles, three interceptions, and 12 pass defences in 14 games in 2015.
