It looks like the Brendan Rodgers era is beginning in Colorado.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Rockies are calling up their top prospect from Triple-A Albuquerque. The team has not yet confirmed the news.

Colorado has a hole at shortstop after Trevor Story left Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox when he collided with teammate Raimel Tapia. Story told reporters after the game the injury was a bone bruise to his left knee.

Rodgers, 22, was tearing it up in 35 minor league games this season, hitting .356 with nine home runs and 21 driven in.

He was selected No. 3 overall in the 2015 MLB Draft by the Rockies and spent last season split between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A.

He is a native of Winter Park, Fla.

The Rockies will begin a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia Friday night.
